I created this mix as someone who had a huge head canon for these two, and have been working on this here and there since early 2010. I personally don’t really care for what the show did to Delena, which is a shame (to put it lightly) since they’re amazing in my head.

This is season one and/or AU for the most part, because that’s how I ship and see them. I tried to stay on the track of eerie, beat-y music that you could imagine fog, mind games, and possibly stalking to.

To sum it up, this mix is about: the games they would play at first, how Damon sees her, how she thinks he’s just a killer and their arguments and disagreements, etc - but despite all of this something is there, something possessing them. It plays on the darker/darkest aspects of their relationship. The fanmix title also waves a hand at the mind control vampires can do. (Also, you could just ignore my AU and apply it to D/E as they are. The Neon Trees song is definitely very season 2 D/E. For all I know, this could be very applicable to s3!)

I tried to include songs that are (probably) less popular or used in D/E’s fanmixes, but you’ll have to excuse me because this is posted a year and a half later than intended. Anyway! Onward!

P.S. I worked really hard on trying to make this perfect in my eyes. (Btw, if you’re a fan of AU’s like myself, then I suggest this girl’s D/E fanvids.)
